Utah Summer Vacation 2014

We loved spending time with the Gunnerson family at the family cabin. We played games, roasted marshmallows, went on a hike, ate yummy food and rode four wheelers.

Uncle Darin helped the kids build a fort.

Grandma Dew hosted her annual bonzai slide party. The kids loved it when Grandpa got out his riding lawn mower and gave them rides around the backyard.

It was a perfect day!

Grandma Dew took the kids to Lagoon. This year Kaylee was more daring on and went on all of the roller coasters. The kids had a blast running from one ride to the next. It was a fun day.

My mom's side of the family had a girls' overnighter at a condo in Heber. We started by shopping at the Park City Outlets, then went out for dinner and ended the day swimming and playing cards until 2 in the morning. It was so much fun spending time with my aunts and cousins.

The Dew family met up at Thanksgiving Point to try out the new Museum of Natural Curiosity.  We were all impressed and ended up spending all day there. There is so much to do and see. The kids loved it.

Jadi's brother, Brandon and his wife Nickole hosted a BBQ on the 4th of July. Geoff and Kaden made homemade rootbeer and it was delicious!  Thanks to Nickole's brother and Jadi's dad we had lots of fireworks. We ended up finishing them off the next night.

We had so much fun. We always love spending time with family and escaping the Arizona heat. We look forward to our summer visits every year.

Summers

We spend a good portion of the summer in our swimming pool.
Kaylee will go swimming 2-3 times a day during the summer.

One day a week we have a baking class.  We make a yummy treat and eat it.  We deliver some of the leftovers to neighbors and friends.  Some of our favorite treats to make are rice krispie treats, muddy buddies, cookies, brownies and cakes.

We have an arts and crafts day once a week.  A couple summers ago we hosted a summer arts & crafts day for the neighbor kids.  At the end of the summer we had an art show.  Click here to see pictures of it.

We attend the weekly summer kids movies with some of our friends.  We also sign up for the library summer reading program and go to the library once a week.

Kaylee is part of a Broadway Youth Choir during the summers. She loves it and we enjoy watching her perform at the end of the summer.

This is our favorite local swimming pool. It has water slides, a lazy river, diving boards, a playground and a whirl pool. Our kids also like picking out a treat from the refreshment stand.

We also go boating 2-4 times a month during the summer.

The highlight of our summer is always escaping the heat and visiting family and friends in Utah. Some of our annual summer traditions are going to Lagoon, Bear Lake, the Gunnerson family cabin and having sleepovers with cousins.

Boating

Geoff loves boating and has always wanted a boat of his own. This last summer we finally decided to buy one and we have loved having it!!  It has been so nice to be able to spend quality family time on the lake without any distractions.
