About Us

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!

We have been married for 16 years.  We have two children, both of whom we believe are quite amazing.  During those 16 incredible years we have moved several times, primarily due to Geoff's schooling and career.  We spent the first seven years of our marriage in Utah (where both of our children were born).  We left Utah in 2004 so that Geoff could attend Law School in Laramie, Wyoming.  Upon graduation in May 2007, we decided to move to Gainesville, Florida, so that Geoff could further his educational and career pursuits by attending the University of Florida's LLM program.  After graduation in 2008, we moved our family to Odenton, Maryland (a Washington, D.C., bedroom community), for Geoff to begin his career as an Attorney Advisor at the United States Tax Court.  After two and a half wonderful years living near Washington, D.C., we desired to move back West to be nearer to our extended families.  Having accepted a position as an attorney for a law firm in Arizona, we have now settled down in a nice Phoenix bedroom community.

We love the friendships, adventures and experiences each of these location have afforded us and will always treasure those memories.  We are thankful, however, to finally be settled in an ideal place to raise our children that provides them with the comfort of stability.  We love our neighbors, schools, ward(church) and community.

We live in a nice suburban neighborhood with great neighbors.  Our neighborhood is very community oriented.  Some of the annual festivities in our neighborhood include, but are not limited to, an Easter breakfast and egg hunt, a Halloween potluck dinner, a Thanksgiving morning fun run and breakfast, a gingerbread house decorating party and a Christmas Eve ham and waffle breakfast.  Our neighborhood boasts many children of all ages.  Afternoons are filled with friends, kids playing and moms socializing.

We live in a two-story, five bedroom, three bathroom home with the customary family room, living room, dining room and a large bonus/play/movie room.  Many hot Summer days are spent either in our gated swimming pool or on our boat at the lake.  Additionally, there are several parks within our neighborhood.

Some of the highlights of a normal week at our house include Family Home Evening on Monday night, a family game night on Tuesday, a family movie night on Friday, Date night (for dad and mom) and going to church on Sunday.  We enjoy going out to eat, having dinners outside on our back patio, going on family bike rides, spending afternoons at the park, boating, swimming in our pool, watching movies in our bonus/theater room and having friends over for dinner.

We have been hoping, praying and patiently waiting to expand our family for several years.  Each of us are excited and anxious to welcome a new child into our loving family.  Our next child will be spoiled with love and attention.  We will ensure that he/she has the opportunities and tools necessary to be successful in this life.  We will do our best to teach him/her compassion, responsibility, respect, gratitude, and help him/her discover his/her passions and a love for life.

I just realized I don't have any recent pictures of JUST me.  I am always the one taking the pictures.  I think this one will work since Geoff is my second half anyway. :)

I came from a good LDS home. I have four siblings, three brothers and one sister. I grew up with two brothers. One 18 months older and the other 4 years younger.  When I was 18 years old my parents adopted my two youngest siblings. This has given us a unique perspective to see how adoption can affect children in both positive and challenging ways.  I am a full time stay at home mom and I LOVE it! I feel blessed that I haven't had to miss out on anything with my kids.  I love the gospel and I am thankful for the blessings and happiness it brings into my life. I am currently serving as the 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency in our ward and I love it!  My passions include baking, photography, graphic design, Photoshop and nutrition. I LOVE to travel and see new places. I am always looking forward to the next vacation or get-a-way. This fall we are planning on meeting my extended family at Disneyland. I also love to celebrate holidays and special occasions. Traditions are important to me.  Most of all, I love being a wife and mother.

Geoff

Geoff is the oldest of 6 boys. He grew up in a loving home where he learned how to be a righteous, hardworking, loving father and husband. He always makes sure we have everything we need. If he finds out one of the kids needs a new pair of shoes he will take them out that night or the next day to buy a new pair. He is always doing thoughtful things for us. One day I mentioned that I was craving almond butter and apples. I had to go to a church activity and when I got home there was a new container of almond butter on the counter. He also gives the best, most thoughtful birthday and Christmas gifts. He is very committed to our family and our marriage. He loves going to sporting events, boating, golfing, fishing, and watching movies. He loves shopping at Costco, it might even be the highlight of his week. :) I had no idea how lucky I was when he asked me to marry him. He truly is the BEST husband and father we could ever want.

Kaylee

Our daughter, Kaylee is 9 years old. She is a fun, loving, artistic, sensitive, intelligent, sweet and passionate girl. She has the ability of being able to make almost anything funny. We are always entertained by her. She is very thoughtful and creative. She is always making us pictures, loom band bracelets or putting together treasure hunts with prizes for us. She loves to sing, dance, swim, play the piano, have late nights with her friends and read books. She wants to be a school teacher when she grows up. She is looking forward to reading books to her new brother or sister. She is also always asking about where we are at in the adoption process and can hardly wait to meet her new brother/sister. She has always been very loving and nurturing with her dolls and we know she will be a great big sister.  We love and adore her.

She loves going to church and activity days. She is also a great missionary.
She is always inviting her friends to church.

She loves to go swimming and will often go swimming 2 or 3 times a day during the summer.

She loves to have late nights with her friends. Like her mom, she likes to plan themed events and parties.  This time she planned a pajama pancake movie party.

She dressed up as an old lady for the 100th day of school last year. I love how you can see her sense of humor in this picture. She can be so funny!!

She likes to dress up. She can't wait until she is older so she can wear high heals and red lipstick.

She was in ballet for four years and had the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker twice.

She also loves to sing and is part of a summer Broadway Youth Choir group.
